It's cool to change your mind.
One of the most vital ideas I can teach a student is that it is OK to change. In fact a person who cannot change his mind, attitudes, or ideas has a difficult time growing into a productive citizen. Change is the one constant in a world that is in a constant state of flux.
A world of color makes life more bareable.
Imagine a world in shades of black and white. How static and cold that world would be. Color adds spice and contrast to an other wise bland life. By infusing color into the events of a person's life, the story become real and interesting. It is my job to share the colors of life, to make the rainbow of ideas shimmer and dance.
Prepare to travel vast distances, to the ends of the universe or the tips of the fingers.
Eventhough we live in a small community where lives a closely shared, teachers and students need to explore the vistas - the mountains, valleys, deserts, and jungles of the planet and of the lives of other people. From the time we are born we must be ready for the great adventure of life with all its pitfalls and challenges.
