First Six Weeks
Students will work on developing character, stage movement, and using the imagination. Six Weeks exam will cover the process of impromptu and the definitions from the text book. With a partner the students will act out one of the LooneyToons cartoons.

First Six Weeks
Seniors will produce a five page research paper on a self-selected person. Students will write the paper and do the required documentation. Students also have a weekly vocabulary assignment with a test over the previous weeks terms each Monday. Students will write daily for 11 minutes on a given topic. Semester exam will be the completion of the research paper.

Sophomores will be reading short stories and responding to various questions TAKS style. The students will also be expected to be able to write an extended piece in response to a given prompt. Each week students will be expected to learn a set of SAT terms and on the following Monday take a test over the terms. Daily the students will write for 11 minutes on a given prompt. Students will also be expected to study grammar usage. Six weeks test will focus on the essays and short stories read in class. Students will be expected to answer TAKS style questions about the material and to use proper grammatical expressions.

These students will be working on the writing process, learning grammar, and working with vocabulary terms from Math, History, and Science classes. Seventh grade will be preparing for the TAKS test in February. Six weeks test will focus on the writing process, sentence formation and structure, and parts of speech.
